How to stick to a workout schedule

We all dream of flaunting wash board abs and bulging triceps, but sadly in reality most of the times it’s a fat filled belly and flabby arms. And so, to at least be somewhat close to living the dream you might make the choice of working out. However when it comes to sticking to the plan, most of us generally fail. So here are a few things you can do to make sure you stick to the plan.

Plan realistically

There is no one else who knows you better than yourself. So when you are making plans, understand how you would truly act when you have to follow it. If you know that even though you have set out 2019 fitness goals for yourself as a part of your resolution, but you would be skipping out on it most of the times, given that the times you have set for working out are too intense and boring to keep up to. Then don’t set them as such. Knowing you would work out better for 30 minutes than 2 hours, would help you be more productive during those times to achieve at least a couple goals. So plan realistically.

Be strict

There is no point in designing a perfect plan if you don’t execute it well. A plan not in action is as good as a piece of paper. Therefore, once you design your plan make sure that you be strict with yourself to stick to it. Unless there are unavoidable circumstances you have to skip a day of work out, make sure that you stay through to tick off the schedule for the day.

Reward yourself

If we know that at the end of the day we would be getting something in return as a reward for whatever that we did, automatically we would feel motivated to work on it. Similarly, if you want to make sure that you stick to your realistically designed plan, include a reward for yourself if you achieve what had been scheduled for the day. It could be a movie date with yourself, some late night snack or even a day off from work! Choose what you would really want and set it out as the reward for more productive outcomes at the end of the day!

Get a workout buddy

If there was one other thing that could motivate you to work out other than the reward at the end of the day, then that would be a workout buddy. Find a friend who would help stick to the plan as they work out as well. this way the entire thing would be much more fun rather than something that you have to push and force yourself to do.
